AHMEDABAD: The city on Wednesday recorded a maximum temperature of 43.3 degrees celsius, the highest in 12 days. On May 20, the city recorded 43.6 degrees.
The maximum temperature on Wednesday was 2.3 degrees higher than normal, while the minimum was 0.2 degrees lower than normal at 27.5 degrees.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, the maximum temperature on Thursday is also likely to be around 43 degrees. ‘No large change in maximum temperatures during next 4-5 days very likely over the region,’ the IMD forecast says. Met department officials said the rise is due to a change in wind direction from southwesterly to westerly.
Ahmedabad was the hottest city in the state, followed by Surendranagar at 42.9 degrees, Kandla at 42.6 degrees, and Vallabh Vidyanagar at 42.1 degrees.
