The saffron party think-tank believes the party has high winning prospects and can increase its Lok Sabha seats tally from the present four to at least 10 parliamentary constituencies in the state.
Unlike the assembly segments where the BJP is still searching for winnable candidates in many seats of the rural areas, it has formidable candidates for the Lok Sabha constituencies.
Former MP and one of the richest politicians in the country Konda Vishweshwar Reddy from Chevella, former MP AP Jithender Reddy, ex-minister DK Aruna from Mahbubnagar, former MP G Vivek Venkatswamy from Peddapally, ex-MP Vijayashanthi from Medak or Malkajgiri, to name a few, are some of the candidates who have the potential to upset the TRS and Congress applecart in 2024.
Presently, the BJP has four MPs — Secunderabad represented by Union minister G Kishan Reddy, Karimnagar represented by BJP state president Bandi Sanjay, Nizamabad by D Arvind and Adilabad by Soyam Bapu Rao.
Though some of the sitting MPs are keen on entering the electoral fray in 2023 assembly polls, sources said the think-tank of the saffron party has well laid-out plans for at least 10 Lok Sbha constituencies.
“Also, the party already has the names of formidable candidates contesting the seats of Bhuvanagiri and Nalgonda respectively. Their names will be revealed at an appropriate time,” BJP state vice-president G Manohar Reddy told STOI.
