Sharad Pawar On Patra Chawl Scam: While the BJP has demanded an inquiry into the Nationalist Congress President Sharad Pawar in the Patra Chawl Scam case, the Nationalist Congress Party has accepted this challenge. Sharad Pawar has expressed his readiness for inquiry and said that the truth will come out. During the BJP government, Pawar criticized the program of setting aside the questions before the citizens of the country and setting up investigations behind the leaders of other parties.
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has been arrested by the ED in the letter redevelopment scam. In the charge sheet filed by the ED, it has been mentioned that a meeting was held in the presence of the former Chief Minister and the Union Agriculture Minister in the correspondence case. The BJP had demanded an inquiry into Sharad Pawar. NCP clarified its stand on this today.
A press conference was held today at Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan in Mumbai in the presence of NCP President Sharad Pawar. Jitendra Awad was also present on this occasion. Jitendra Awad said that Sharad Pawar held a meeting on January 14, 2006 regarding the allegations in the mail scam case. Jitendra Awad said that all officers and concerned people were present in this meeting. Sharad Pawar had held many meetings on various issues in the state, asking what is surprising in the fact that Sharad Pawar held a meeting in the letter case. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss, communicate and find a middle way. Swadhin Kshatriya, former chief secretary of the state, was the then secretary of the housing department. Awad said that he has the minutes of this meeting. Political leaders try to find a way through dialogue. Awad said that the same happened in this case. An inquiry should be made in this case. We have no opposition to it. But, Awad said that money is being used by BJP.
