Actor Mahesh Thakur has suffered a financial fraud and his immediate reaction has been to file a police complaint. The senior actor has filed a complaint at the Oshiwara police station in Mumbai with respect to a case of cheating. According to reports, Thakur has filed a complaint against Mayank Goyal, alleging that the man has cheating him off Rs 5.43 crores.

ETimes reached out to Mahesh Thakur who confirmed the development and explained, “It is a financial fraud but I cannot reveal anything more, as the case is under investigation. I will be holding a press conference very soon.” In the meantime, Mumbai Police has registered a complaint under section 420 and 406 of the IPC. The police has assured that the investigation is already underway.

There were media reports that suggested Thakur had filed his complaint at the Amboli police station, but the actor confirmed that his complaint has been registered at Oshiwara police station, instead.

It is to be seen how the alleged accused Mayank Goyal ended up cheating Thakur, that too for a large amount of money. Details of the case will only become clear once Thakur holds that press conference and reveals what exactly transpired.

Thakur’s business ventures include his production house titled Kreative Flight Films, which produces both films and TV shows. ETimes will get you more exclusive updates from this case. Watch this space for more.
