The incident took place in Panchvati area of Nashik and the police investigation has concluded that the murder was due to prior enmity. Ravi Shinde, a resident of Myco Circle area here, was walking home from Kalika Nagar around 10:30 pm to 01:00 am when Kiran Kokate came from behind in a rickshaw and suddenly stabbed Ravi. This time Kokate killed Ravi by stabbing him with a sharp weapon on his waist.
Meanwhile, as it was night time, Kokate ran away from the spot. Ravi succumbed to the worm wound and profuse bleeding shortly thereafter. This incident caused tension in the area throughout the night. A case has been registered in Panchvati Police Station on the complaint filed by Yusuf Amir Syed against Kiran Ramesh Kokate regarding Ravi Shinde’s murder.
Meanwhile, on getting information about the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Crime Branch Sanjay Barkund Gangadhar Sonwane, Sixth Commissioner of Police, Panchvati Division visited the said incident site. Also instructions were given to trace the suspected accused and arrest him immediately. After that Vponi Vijay Dhamal, Vponi Anchal Mudgal visited the spot and started investigation.
Accused absconding after murder, arrested
According to this, three different teams of crime investigation team from Panchvati, Mhasrul, Adgaon in Panchvati division were formed and sent to search for suspect Kiran Kokate. Accordingly, the crime investigation team of Panchavati Thane using technical skills arrested the suspect Kiran Kokate from CIDCO, Ambad Nashik. After taking him into custody, he has confessed to killing Ravi Shinde. Police are investigating further.
A dispute over an old feud
It turns out that the killing was due to an old feud. The suspect has been arrested in the said crime and has been produced in court and remanded in police custody for further investigation of the crime. The further investigation of the crime is being done by Police Inspector Ranjit Nalwade.
