Sugarcane Conference: Swabhimani Shetkar Sangathan (Swabhimani Shetkar Sangathan) will hold its 21st sugarcane conference on October 15. The conference will be held at the Vikram Singh Stadium in Jaisinghpur. Raju Shetty, president of Swabhimani Shetkar Sangathan, has announced this in Kolhapur. This time the sugarcane conference is going to be different. Until the lump sum FRP is decided. Shetty has warned that no sugar factory will be allowed to start in the state till then. Meanwhile, Raju Shetty also informed that he will hold public meetings for nine days in Sangli and Kolhapur district for the ‘struggle of Jagar FRP for sugarcane rate’.
The erstwhile Mahavikas Aghadi government betrayed the farmers and did a great loss to the farmers by passing the law to break the FRP into pieces. A demand has also been made to the Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to cancel the decision of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government immediately. The Shinde government has not yet taken a decision in this regard. On one hand, the rates of chemical fertilizers have increased tremendously. On the other hand, the production cost of farmers has increased to a great extent. FRP has not increased to the same extent. On the contrary, the central government increased the base of FRP to 10.25 percent and caused a huge loss to the farmers. One-time FRP is a right given to farmers by law. Meanwhile, the government has divided the FRP into two parts and diverted soil to the food of the sugarcane farmers.
Jagar Yatra will be held for nine days from September 24 to October 4 in Sangli and Kolhapur districts. This yatra will be held at Sarud, Parite, Gadhinglaj, Nipani, Yedemachchindra, Kundal, Ghunki, Kagal, Dattawad, Chandgad, Kodoli, Waliwade and Kande to spread awareness among the farmers. Shetty said that struggle for sugarcane rate is inevitable. The state government should cancel the FRP two-piece decision in advance. The government still has 40 days to go. Until lump sum FRP is decided. Shetty has warned that no sugar factory will be allowed to start in the state till then.
We are always ready for a street fight. There is good demand for sugar in the world market. Most of the countries are experiencing drought this year. There is no sugar left in India. We should take advantage of this. Although the sugarcane area is large, it is the sole responsibility of the government to crush all the sugarcane. If there is no conflict, Shetty demanded that the state government should look into the sugarcane rate and take a decision on it.
