South cinema’s veteran actor and former Union Minister U.V. Krishnam Raju said goodbye to this world forever. U.V. Krishnam passed away at the age of 82. He breathed his last at around 3.45 am in the morning. Krishnam Raju was considered to be the Rebel Star of South Cinema and he has worked in one hit film while being active in cinema. But his health deteriorated on Saturday night, after which he was admitted to the hospital.

Krishnam Raju is the uncle of Pan India Star Prabhas and Prabhas stands with his uncle’s family in this hour of grief. At the same time, after the death of the actor, all the stars and fans of South cinema are paying tribute to him. Union Minister Amit Shah has also paid tribute to Krishnam Raju. He tweeted and wrote, ‘Sad to know that the favorite star of Telugu cinema and former Union Minister U Krishnam Raju Garu has left us. He won millions of hearts with his versatile acting and worked for the betterment of the society. His passing leaves a deep void in our Telugu cinema. My condolences.

South’s director Maruti has also paid tribute to Krishnam Raju on social media. He wrote in his tweet, ‘Very sad to know that veteran actor and Rebel Star Krishnam Raju is no more with us. My condolences to Prabhas Garu and his family. May the soul of Lord Krishnam Raju sir rest in peace. You will always be in our heart.

Talking about Krishnam Raju’s career, he was a journalist before venturing into cinema. In the year 1996, he made his acting debut in the film ‘Chilaka Gornika’. He won the hearts of fans with his first film. He was awarded the Nandi Award for this film. After this he worked in many films with veteran actors NT Rama Rao and Akkineni Nageshwar Rao. Krishnam Raju has appeared in about 183 films.
